Why?  Ivy is an invasive non-native plant which smothers trees and weighs them down, causing them to fall. Also, it covers the ground and smothers native forest under-story.

Here's a  report on our Ivy Out on Saturday November 19.  We had the loan of a very nice canopy, which we set up first thing.  Fortunately it did not rain.  We set up three small tables under the canopy for food, beverages and sigh-ins.  The Water Dist. provided us with a form which they require, and we had our own Hold Harmless sign-in.  It was foggy in the AM, but the sun came out later and it was sunny but cool the rest of the day (a great day for working).  An amazing spread of goodies was generously donated for the workers by the people of the Shoreline Christian Reform Church.  Donations also came from Albertson's and Safeway.  There is plenty of food left over for the next Ivy Out.  The Water Store also offered water for our workers, but I forgot to pick it up on Friday, so brought some I'd gotten for an earlier work party.  18 people put in approximately 64 total man/woman/child hours of work!! There were 6 or7 6th graders from Brookside Elem., accompanied by a few adults.  Bo Rohrbach was there from SAFE.
